Path through Victoria Park
In previous years the Council mowed the whole of this open space regularly Image; this year they have just kept a broad path around the perimeter mown and let the rest of the grass grow tall. Whether principally to cut costs or for environmental reasons, I don't know.

Sign for Victoria Park Woodland
A large number of trees was planted here in early 2022, see also Image The sign explains that it is part of the city council's plan to plant 1250 hectares of new woodland in the next 25 years as part of the response to climate change (not pointing out that at the same time the same council is spending tens of millions of pounds on road traffic improvements).
