The Brookfield Hotel, off Hunslet Road
The only hotel in this part of Leeds as far as I know, but still a going concern, perhaps helped by the recent redevelopment of the nearby South Bank area as an educational centre. It was described in a CAMRA guide to Leeds pubs published in 1993 as a pub rather than a hotel at that time.

This may be the wall of the original Brookfield Mill. The industrial buildings behind it are those of TF & JH Braime's pressing works, the more impressive frontage of which can be seen in Image The sound of the pressing machinery at work can be heard from the road.

Airedale Works, Kitson Road, Leeds
In 1835 James Kitson established the Airedale Foundry, which explains the name of the more recent road in the foreground. It was a locomotive works, but this building is now a gym.
