Moored narrowboat at Llangollen, Denbighshire
There are good moorings here at Llangollen, but there are not very many, and the venue is very popular during the summer months so it is wise to arrive in the early afternoon. It is less crowded Saturday to Monday when most hire boats haven't yet arrived. It is hardly surprising that the Canal and River Trust have begun exploiting this by charging £6 a day for mooring overnight, here or in a small marina about 700 metres north-west. This is payable after 4pm and lasts until 4pm the next day. Daytime visitors who leave by 4pm are not charged.
