This Grade II listed timber framed late C16th/early C17th house is on the corner of Church Lane and Hoby Road. There is a mix of building materials: wood frame, granite rubble stone, red brick including herringbone pattern and a Welsh slate roof. Some of the windows are horizontal sliding sashes. Ratcliffe Road is seen here from its junction with Rearsby Road. The 'Ratcliffe' in question is Ratcliffe on the Wreake, about two miles away (not to be confused with Ratcliffe on Soar and its power station).
