Marlborough Square (the square of many cinemas), Coalville
Showing the Marlborough Square Methodist Church and a bingo hall, converted from what was previously the Regal Cinema (1933). A second former-cinema (REX Cinema, 1938) is located along the road to the right, meeting with the other cinema in an L-shape. A third former cinema, the Coalville Electric Theatre (1910), still exists in another use at the opposite end of the square. Rather a lot of cinemas for such a small town! Only the Century Theatre remains operational today. Camera: Olympus Mju II Film: Kodak Gold 200 Scanner: Nikon D7200 Conversion software: Grain2Pixel (unedited)

Entrance to the Deep
The shaft runs down 250 metres to the concealed Leicestershire coalfield. Up to 12 men could fit into one cage. One accident that happened was when the cage didn't stop, sending the men to the bottom. The water in the shaft base saved them but didn't prevent serious injuries.
