A new housing estate off Moira Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Recently built by Ashberry Homes; the name given to the development, generically nostalgic as per usual, is "Broadleaf". The main road running through the estate, unusually connecting directly to a separate estate by a different developer, is named "Bishop Hall Road". In the foreground is a reedbed-style balancing pool, one of the more attractive features of contemporary housing developments.

A prefabricated house in Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Probably of the 'Airey' type. The estate was built shortly after WWII; the majority of houses have since been modernised with retrofitted brick skins over the original structure.

Footpath crossing a housing construction site, Ashby
This footpath leads from Ashby-de-la-Zouch to Blackfordby, via Prestop Park. This view, in a year perhaps, will look down the road of a developed housing estate, with a footpath marker at the far end, where the official path resumes.

A new housing estate near Prestop Park, Ashby
This estate is located on the South side of Burton Road, and connects to an equally new estate to the North of Moira Road. The hill on the left is part of Prestop Park, and hopefully will not be developed with housing in the future.

The Glen, Shellbrook (Ashby)
An abandoned mansion on the outskirts of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. It is officially named as The Glen on its Grade-II listing record, whilst sometimes known as "Joker's Manor" to various urban explorers in the past. Since this photograph was taken, the house has been entirely refurbished and is back in habitation.

Philip Bent Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch
A relatively new housing estate, completed in about 2015. A public footpath running through the previously undeveloped field is now re-routed through the estate.

A field near Prestop Park
A lush field, on the outskirts of Ashby. Just to the right of the picture is a housing construction site, but the footpath continues to operate here. In the other direction, the footpath continues along the edge of the trees on the left, towards Blackfordby.
