Priorities

1 Jan 2024

Reports of drug issues at Trinity Close; at the Bath Grounds; at Derby Road; and at Ridgeway Road.

Response (24 Mar 2024)

PRIMARY AIMS
1. To reduce instances drug activity in designated zones.
2. Reassure local residents who have voiced their concerns over regular incidents of drug related activity in these areas.
3. Regular updates to the community should generate additional locations as this priority matures.

You said: That you had concerns over drug misuse in these areas

We have: Increased patrols in the designated areas with a view to reducing this activity.

Patrols are conducted at varying times in both marked and plain vehicles so intelligence gathering capability is not negatively impacted.

We will add additional patrol locations based on topical intelligence from members of the public who we will invite via NHL to contribute to new locations as activity is displaced from original target locations

Neighbourhood officers conducted a patch walk in the target areas on 27/01/24

We have updated our activity diary with daily results and intelligence.

Response (24 Mar 2024)

PRIMARY AIMS
1. Reduction of speeding cars and vehicle ASB in general throughout the ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH area
2. Take positive action against road traffic offenders in general, as the local community regularly raise these issues as a primary concern.
3. Build on the success of previous village speeding initiatives by the beat Team and support the Road Safety Unit’s Camera van deployment in topical and relevant locations.

You said: That you are naturally concerned about Road Safety and in particular excess speed of vehicles.

We have: Conducted speed checks in identified areas and have 3 speeding operations organised between now and March 2024.

We will update the public via Force social media and Neighbourhood link.

We will once again invite suggestions from residents as to where our activities can best be focused.

Deployment will also continue to take place on roads where stopping any offending vehicle may have had Health and Safety implications and on roads unsuitable for Camera Van deployment. Offending vehicle details will be recorded and proportionate action will be taken against drivers. The data collected will also be fed back to Road Safety Unit.

To target Burglaries and Vehicle crime across the area of Ashby de la Zouch and surrounding villages.

Response (24 Mar 2024)

PRIMARY AIMS
1. Reduce acquisitive crime across the Ashby de la Zouch area.
2. Beat Team to utilise weekly crime trend data to prioritise their patrols in targeted areas and increase awareness in the community.
3. Beat Team will utilise Neighbourhood Link and ORLO (Social Media portal) to publish a weekly crime trend document to residents, and provide relevant crime prevention advice.

You said: You want Ashby to remain a safe environment both residents and visitors.

We have: Understood that residential burglary and vehicle crime are crimes that resonates with communities and we recognise that acquisitive crime of this nature has a significant impact on the community. Our response directly influences victim and community confidence.

As a result of this the Beat Team are using weekly crime trend data to prioritise our patrols in targeted areas.

We are visiting locations affected and liaising directly with residents to make them aware of any emerging trends. During visits we also give crime prevention advice on an individual basis. The public response to this has been very positive.

We are publishing the data in the form of a crime trend document on Force social media and Neighbourhood Link.
