From Belgrave flyover, looking down Belgrave Road. This area of Leicester is predominantly Asian and this street is famous for its Indian jewellery shops, supposedly more than in Bond Street, hence the nick name. (Note: Photographer was a passenger in the car.)

Mahatma Gandhi statue on Belgrave Road
Behind the statue is Leicester's 'wheel of light'. A big wheel measuring 100 ft (30 m) in diameter has been erected on Belgrave Road (the Golden Mile) for the city's Diwali celebrations. Leicester's Diwali celebrations are the largest outside India, more than 35,000 people attended the 2015 switch-on of the lights. Image for the same view during the day.
