Behind the statue is Leicester's 'wheel of light'. A big wheel measuring 100 ft (30 m) in diameter has been erected on Belgrave Road (the Golden Mile) for the city's Diwali celebrations. Leicester's Diwali celebrations are the largest outside India, more than 35,000 people attended the 2015 switch-on of the lights. Image for the same view during the day.
