New bungalow on the site of 459 & 457 Braunstone Lane
Ordnance Survey documents show that in 1964 there were two semi-detached dwellings here with outhouses at their rears. The one behind the left hand house had a cut mark benchmark levelled at 95.034m above Newlyn Datum. The outhouses were probably demolished but this was not checked.

Braunstone Lane passing Highway Spinney
Ordnance Survey documents indicate that in 1964 a rivet benchmark levelled at 95.735m above Newlyn Datum was placed on a small rock at the fence line on the right hand side of the road.

Hockley Farm Road, Braunstone near Leicester
Part of the North Braunstone slum clearance housing project of the late 1930s. The rents charged were higher than people were used to, and there was the additional cost of furnishing the new houses; the nickname 'Dodge City' referred to the amount of people in debt in the area.
