The former post office at the junction of Mynd Road and the B4355 road. The building is partly medieval but was mostly rebuilt in the late 18th or early 19th century and it retains half of a late medieval open-hall with one cruck-truss remaining. The construction is partly timber framed and rendered, partly rubble stone, all under a slate roof. Very unusual war memorial, a trough with an interesting inscription, and not just its reference to England. "This memorial is erected by the grateful village of Norton to commemorate the names of its faithful sons who fought and died for England and Liberty" Norton has chosen to remember those who returned as well.

The Old Vicarage, adjacent to the church, was probably built in 1868 when the church was being restored. In a Gothic style of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings under a slate roof. Opposite St Andrew's Church in Norton and on the corner of Mynd Road, the old post office is listed Grade II https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300008946-norton-post-office-presteigne. The red object just visible in the middle window of the ground floor (a former doorway) is a small model of a Penfold pillar box. There is also a functioning Image in the wall outside the house.
