The Cumbria Grand Hotel, Grange-Over-Sands
Built in 1880 by the Furness Railway Company it was originally known as the Hazelwood Hydro.
During World War II it was requisitioned by the RAF as an officers training centre.
It is currently owned by Strathmore Hotels Ltd.

Cumbria Grand Hotel
An air of faded grandeur pervades this large building.
Built in 1880 as the Hazlewood Hydro, it saw its best days early in the last century. It was taken over by the RAF in the Second World War.
Nowadays it is part of the Strathmore Group, relying on coach parties for much of its business.
Also popular with golfers, for the course adjacent to the property.
