George Street alongside The Albany Building
The Albany was built in 1856 as a place for cotton brokers to meet and examine goods. The derricks that are still attached to the building in George Street, and on the other side of the building in Ormond Street, show how bales of cotton could be unloaded from carts and be lowered into the basement area. The Albany is Grade II listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-359185-the-albany- The Albany has been converted into modern apartments.

1 Old Hall Street, Liverpool
Looks like a 1960s/1970s office block which has been refurbished. The ground floor was occupied by Adecco, a recruitment agency, and tenants above included the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Former Cotton Exchange, Old Hall Street, Liverpool
There was an older exchange here, much of which survives behind ( Image]), but its impressive front was pulled down and replaced by this block of 1967-69 by Newton-Dawson, Forbes & Tate.
