Seed drill at work
While most of the cereals in the East Neuk await harvest, next year's winter crop (wheat or barley) is being sown. The winter crops are harvested first and the ground is almost immediately ploughed again.

Junkyard at Muiredge
The backside of Muiredge is not particularly scenic. The OS map shows a disused quarry, but if there was one, it is now properly disused, in other words invisible. The walk from Kilrenny Commons ends here, unless one is ready to employ bushwhacking and fenceclimbing skills. Easier to return to the west via Blacklaws.

The village of Anstruther Wester is 3km away, with Bass Rock 19½km away across the Firth of Forth. Beyond is the East Lothian coastline and the Lammermuir Hills, the hills are about 40km away.
