The village of Anstruther Wester is 3km away, across the Firth of Forth is the East Lothian coastline and the town of North Berwick. The hill is North Berwick Law, about 22km away. The East Neuk of Fife is an area of the coast of Fife, "Neuk" is the Scots word for nook or corner. It covers an area of approximately 100 square kilometres (39 sq mi).
