Built to take all the surface drain water from the new housing estate on the old glebe and slow it down before it enters the Inverie Burn.

Wild flowers
This display of wild flowers was beside the drainage channel for the new housing development of Windmill Gardens, St Monans. Wildflower meadows like this are becoming increasingly uncommon which is leading to the decline in populations of many insect species with a corresponding decrease in those species which relay on insects for survival.
