The Refuge of Refuge Corner
Everyone who lives in Orkney knows where Refuge Corner is - few know that it takes its name from the small-holding called Refuge. The Corner is actually an abrupt change of road direction and, over the years, must have caught out a few unwary motorists. Never mind, the run-off is safe(ish) in either direction.

This is part of the drainage basin of the Loch of Wasdale. The mountains of Hoy can be seen in the far distance.
