Council office demolition, phase 2.
The first stage of the new Public Service Village is now open and demolition moves on to the next office block. This was the first building in Western Way in the early 1960s - there is a photo of the foundation stone somewhere on Geograph. At that time it was owned by US road making machinery company Barber Greene. Demolishing the ground floor first is not the most obvious of plans.

The new headquarters of St. Edmundsbury and Suffolk County Councils in Bury St. Edmunds is starting to blend into the landscape as the trees grow. The photo is helped by a dramatic sky.

Crane dismantling at new council offices, Western Way
The new 'Public Services Village' building nears completion, and a day of good weather gives a chance to dismantle the tower crane - which needs a mobile crane to do it. Photographed from Image Note the mystery object top right on the building which will feature later in a Geograph close up.

Demolition of 1960s office block
Another St. Edmundsbury Council office demolished as part of the Public Service Village project. This was built as the offices of the Barber Greene road making machine works. The foundation stone is on Geograph. I am told the demolition operation has some problems associated with the way the office is tied into the building behind.
