Methwold Old Vicarage garden and St George's church
Methwold Old Vicarage is a 15th century house of chalk and timber framing with a highly decorative 16th century brisk gable end and chimney to Crown Street. It was rescued from dereliction and the threat of demolition by Monica Dance (1913-98), for 30 years secretary to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, who retired here and left the house to the Landmark Trust. The monument commemorates its association with Monica Dance and the SPAB.
