View of Stefan Reiss's O.T.968 outside Ilford Town Hall
This piece of digital art is called O.T.968 and is designed by Stefan Reiss. It is part of a new initiative by Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure and Space Studios called the Lab Central Arts Programme, with funding from the Arts Council England Libraries: Opportunities for Everyone Innovation Fund. The launch of the artwork was marked with three performances from Cirque Bijou, a group of people carrying illuminated umbrellas parading the streets of Ilford and who featured in Lumiere London (see Image). Redbridge Town Hall, Ilford High Road
Ilford Town Hall, currently the seat of Redbridge Borough Council, was built 1899-1901 by architect Ben Woollard, and extended in 1931-3 by L E J Reynolds. It is listed grade II (list entry 1390560).
