Duck swims across grid line
The extensive pond by the B1230 at Walkington is mostly in SE9937 with the east end in TA0037. The duck is probably just about on the grid line.

Sue Hearnshaw's Olympic bronze commemorated
Sue Hearnshaw was born in 1961 in Liversedge, West Yorkshire. In 1984 she won the bronze medal for the long jump at the Los Angeles Olympics with a distance of 6.80 metres. The distance is set out here in paving slabs and as my shot of this turned out blurred I will link to this Image by SMJ. This is set out by the bus shelter and anyone who can beat it would probably end up in the village pond.

Walkington village pond, west end
Spring spruce up means trees have been cut down around the pond, but many new trees planted. Watch this space and see how quickly nature can restore the scene.

West end of Walkington pond
A memorial willow tree has been planted on the small island. Looks like I wasn't the only photographer around that day.
