Right down the Line
Looking SEE from the footbridge at Brough Station. This section of the London/Sheffield/Leeds to Hull line is about two miles dead straight, although a little further west from here, is the railway line to Selby, which, at one point, has an 18 mile dead-straight section - the longest in Great Britain.

Taken from the eastbound platform of Brough Station. The railway 'climbs' at this point on a very slight gradient to its 'summit' as seen in the distance!

South Brough new Housing
The houses have been completed in the last couple of years near to the former Brough Airfield. They have been built on an artificial chalk substrate to raise their foundations above the possible flood plain. Future housing chalk substrate can be seen being laid on both the top and the right of the photograph. The towers of the Humber Bridge can be seen in the distance.

Blenheim Avenue, Brough
New-build housing on the Barratt Homes 'Harrier Chase' site https://www.barratthomes.co.uk/new-homes/united-kingdom/h724301-harrier-chase/ . The estate is the first housing on the planned Brough South development. This will eventually comprise 750 new homes and associated amenities on a 125-acre site between the Hull-Doncaster railway and former Brough Aerodrome. It represents a continuation of the recent expansion of the town, particularly to its south-east. As a result, the population of Brough and the adjacent Elloughton has doubled in the past 15 years.
