Road Safety

Information sharing has been exchanged with Councillor Meredith, several personal from East Riding Council and Parish councillors regarding collisions that have occurred at Comberdale Hill/Westoby Lane. Concerns have been raised due to the volume of accidents at this location. There was a sight visit at the end of march which PCSO Lynch attended along with Councillor Meredith. Councillor Meredith is raising the question of what can be done to reduce RTC/and casualties. I have assisted by providing data from our collision records and it remains high on his agenda. Consideration for Speed gun to be utilised at that location (if a safe site can be identified)

ASB- taking place on local parks and open spaces in Brough/ Welton.

Reports of Anti-social behaviour taking place on the Burrs Playing field Welton Road, the park near Wilson Place Welton (estate off Common Road near the cricket ground) and the small turning area next to the new LIDL that is being built, this can be accessed via Welton Road, past the police station turning. Reports of damaged play equipment at Wilson Place, shouting and being abusive to residents and staying on the park till gone midnight drinking and effecting residents’ sleep. Gatherings are still taking place on the Burrs playing field, main concern is the rubbish left and the motorbikes and Surrons being ridden over the field. Reports of cars/ bikes attending the turning area near the Lidl that is being built, music, shouting and loud exhausts etc are affecting the nearby residents. Previous reports of drug dealing taking place. The NPT will continue to conduct high visibility patrol, engage and educate youths in attendance and deal with any identified offences.

ASB- taking place on local parks and open spaces in Brough/ Welton.

There have been no further reports of ASB on the Burrs Playing field and overall anti-social behaviour has reduced in the Brough area since the last period.

Operation Yuletide

Operation Yuletide is Humberside Police's coordinated festive-season strategy, starting 1 December, focused on boosting patrols, reducing crime spikes, protecting vulnerable individuals, and working closely with local partners to ensure a safer Christmas and New Year. We will be increasing patrols in the town centre and other locations linked to ASB.

Anti-Social Behaviour - Swanland

Swanland has seen repeating issues with youths causing anti-social behaviour. Throughout the coming weeks and months and as the nights get lighter patrols will continue to show high visibility presence to deter would be offenders.

We continue to review and act on drugs intelligence. For operational and data protection reasons we are unable to give specific details of locations / premises or persons that we are currently investigating. We have been working with other agencies to tackle individuals of concern linked to drug misuse. Several individuals have been identified and our enquiries are continuing.

We ask that you report any concerns around drugs misuse that you have. You may have information that adds to an ongoing concern, and this can really help when we apply for Warrants. This is a common issue at many of our schools. We continue to work with headteachers and their staff, as well as Road Safety Officers and Parish Councils, to stop this potentially dangerous practice.
