Also a Huckvale design, the Museum was opened in 1892 to house Lionel Walter Rothschild's thousands of mounted mammals, birds, butterflies and moths, and his impressive library. The Museum was gifted to the nation in 1937.

Louisa Cottages and the eastern end of Park Road
The Louisa Cottages have been photographed several times for Geograph already (see Image] for example). They were built as almshouses in two phases, in 1893 and 1901 as dates on their oriel windows attest. This view is from the western end of Park Street as it meets Akeman street (off to the right) and continues ahead as Park Road. The row of houses beyond the Louisa Cottages all have quite unusual Dutch Gables.

The Dutch Houses, Park Road, Tring
An attractive row of terraces named after their Dutch-style gable-ends. One of the tenants informed me that they were erected by the Rothschild family - whose mansion (Tring Park) is a short distance away - to house members of their staff.
