Tring: View over allotments from Woodlands Wood footpath
A footpath strikes off from Duckmore Lane just north of the A41 bridge, it heads into Great West Plantation almost due East then kinks to the NE and heads along a ginnel to King Street. This later narrow alley passes through Woodlands Wood before passing the backs of the houses on the eastern side of Woodland Close.
This photo was taken from just after that "kink" before its entry into the wood, looking across a field to the Allotment Gardens alongside Aylesbury Road.

Old Milestone, B4635, Aylesbury Road, Tring
The milestone is located west of the junction with Longfield Road, on the old Roman Road, Akeman Street, on the south side of road. Allotments are behind the hedge. Parish of Tring (Dacorum District). Metal post, Sparrows Herne Casting design, erected by the Sparrows Herne turnpike trust in the 19th century
Lost since 1970, probably during road widening.

Frosted Veg
I'm pretty sure that these clumps of parsley-like leaves are atop the desprouted stalks of Brussels Sprout plants on this allotment. Here they are seen frosted over on a chilly December morning.
