Wendover Arm: Reed Beds in the Canal
As the canal is no longer navigated there are many places where a variety of vegetation had spread out from the former towpath into the crystal clear water, supporting a variety of invertebrate life. See Image

The water from the Heron Stream is trapped and fed into the canal – this ditch alongside the canal would appear to be all that is left below the water gauge. See Image

Halton Railway ? An informal footpath crosses the track ? looking North
Many people walk their dogs this way, through fields with (on the day I went) sheep in it. However this route is to the east of the stream while the official path is further west.

Old Milestone by the B4009, north of Wendover
Carved stone post by the B4009 (former A413), in parish of Wendover (Aylesbury Vale District), Aylesbury Road; outside Recreation Ground, on grass between road and tarmac path, on East side of road. Aylesbury square, erected by the Wendover & Buckingham turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / AYLESBURY / 4 / MILES : : TO / LONDON / 36 : Carved benchmark and rivet on top. The Wendover Arm
At first glance the canal almost looks navigable but is in fact very shallow; the last boat passed this way in 1904. Nevertheless, the towpath makes an excellent walk.
