Tall Kissing Gate in wood near Hampden Road
This photo shows a tall kissing gate in a wood between Hampden Road and Honor End Lane with corrugated metal sheets on each side of the gate, which gives it a rather forbidding appearance.

Metal Warning Notice in wood near Hampden Road
This notice by a tall kissing gate in the wood between Hampden Road and Honor End Lane says: WARNING LOOSE STALLIONS KEEP TO FOOTPATH However, I would have thought it more likely that the stallions would be in nearby fields rather than roaming about in these woods. No-one can say though that you haven't been warned!

Shady dell inside a copse near Prestwood
My son and I entered the copse expecting to find Deer - and we did, a doe with one or two young. They stopped and looked at us. We stopped and looked at them. I remembered to get my camera ready and took this shot as they decided to leave! What a perfect shelter for them..

Farmland, Great Hampden
This oak along with another to the photographer's left are on former field boundaries still marked as such on 1:25000 Ordnance Survey maps. A total of four fields seem to have been consolidated into a single one, with the hedgerow to the left of picture remaining but now enclosing nothing.

Kissing gate and a half
This is the tallest and least user-friendly kissing gate I have seen. If you are in the habit of kissing your partner as you pass through such things this must feel like being a prisoner at the end of a visiting session. There was one at the other end of the field too, which contained horses.

Farmland near Great Hampden
There is an avenue of trees running north-west towards Hampden House. Although it is less prominent the further away from the house you are, and this far away the land is mainly arable farmland, this tree and the footpath give the first indication of the route. Successive years seem to have seen a reduction in the area of this field cropped, so this area has the remains of two lots of previous crops, oil seed rape and legumes.

Footpath from Hampden House
There is an avenue of trees running south-east from Hampden House. Although it is less prominent the further away from the house you go, and this far away the land is mainly arable farmland, this tree and the footpath still mark its route.
