The Methodist Church, Westgate, Almondbury
This modern building seems to be the third on the site; the chapel was founded in 1842 (the elliptical plaque is preserved alongside the lane on the left side, and is shown here Image]). It was rebuilt in 1900 and most of that building is at the rear, facing Stocks Walk, see Image

Foundation stone on former church school, Stocks Walk, Almondbury
There was a National School on this site, and it seems to have been enlarged or rebuilt in stages. This stone is dated 1895.

Former teacher's houses, Stocks Walk, Almondbury
The Almondbury National School was founded in 1819, and was moved to a building on the site of the church school in 1846. The building in this photograph was converted from two cottages with a loomshop over to two houses for teachers. Here is a photograph of the plaque: Image
