Plaque next to Houghton's Almshouses, Almondbury
It seems remarkable that here there are three sets of almshouses close together. This plaque is for the latest ones, which look like council bungalows for the elderly.

Cash machine in a disused telephone kiosk, Northgate, Almondbury
There are still the remains of a vandalised telephone facing the road. The ATM looks rather vulnerable; I can imagine the whole kiosk being uprooted and lifted onto a lorry!

The Library, Stocks Walk, Almondbury
The library behind the church is a 'Carnegie' one opened in 1905. They were mainly built between 1903 and 1911.
