Croft Mill off Northgate, Almondbury
A 'doll's house' mill that looks like a Cornish tin mine. On the 1850 map, on which it is 'Water Croft Mill', but surprisingly not a listed building. However on reflection not many old mill buildings are listed. The brick wall suggests that it has been longer.

Plaque next to Houghton's Almshouses, Almondbury
It seems remarkable that here there are three sets of almshouses close together. This plaque is for the latest ones, which look like council bungalows for the elderly.

Cash machine in a disused telephone kiosk, Northgate, Almondbury
There are still the remains of a vandalised telephone facing the road. The ATM looks rather vulnerable; I can imagine the whole kiosk being uprooted and lifted onto a lorry!
