Croft Mill off Northgate, Almondbury
A 'doll's house' mill that looks like a Cornish tin mine. On the 1850 map, on which it is 'Water Croft Mill', but surprisingly not a listed building. However on reflection not many old mill buildings are listed. The brick wall suggests that it has been longer.

T&Cake, Northgate, Almondbury
This café gets very good reviews, but is a bit puzzling as it looks like a pair of houses, perhaps because the building is listed, Grade II. The listing details state that it has mullioned windows at the back. Which door leads to the café? I should guess that one of them is for a flat upstairs. In the middle ages Almondbury held a more prominent position than Huddersfield as a trading centre by holding weekly markets,it also had the only school in the district.
