St John's Church, Kirkheaton
An ancient foundation, but largely rebuilt in 1887-8. Inside there are fragments of an Anglo-Saxon cross with interlace decoration and a stone with a runic inscription. The modern gateway echoes the porch, although in a different style.

St John the Baptist, Kirkheaton - churchyard
A fairly extensive churchyard. It was closed to new burials in 1880 and replaced with the non-denominational cemetery on Hole Bottom Lane (now called Lane Side Lane). Most of the memorials are still present though an area close to the church building has been cleared.
