Due to the tight turn, left/right turns around the sharp corner are prohibited. But despite the misleading road markings, Lane Side Lane is not a one-way street

Church View, Kirkheaton
Modern housing on the site of a former school Image The village history website says that this was the old Junior school which closed in 1982, itself taking the site of the old Grammar school (built 17th century, rebuilt in 1844 as a Church of England school).

Church Lane and the Beaumont Arms, Kirkheaton
Village pub situated opposite the parish church, the cemetery of which can be partially seen on the right of picture. The pub (known locally as the Kirk Stile) has various historical links with local law enforcement, having served as a courthouse, lock-up and base for a local 'Prosecution Society'. Today it is a Joshua Tetley Heritage Pub and I'd recommend it.
