Hall Bower Sunday School - foundation stones
The stone on the corner was laid by Sir W P (William Pick) Raynor (1854-1927), Masonic Provincial Grand Master, Freeman of the City of London and of Huddersfield, who had been knighted in 1912. The adjacent stone bears the date August 22nd 1914, probably laid to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the school and maybe also an extension of the building, which otherwise dates from 1879. Another stone was laid by Mrs W S Hughes.

Although the building is no longer used for its original purpose, the church that meets here currently uses the old name. Note the defibrillator on the wall.
