View north east from Bridge MVL3/101 Whiteacre Street, Deighton
This is the main line from Leeds to Huddersfield & Manchester. It wouldn't be the same without the graffiti.

Bridge MVL3/101, Whiteacre Street, Deighton
Viewed from the station platform 2. It really could do with a paint.

Weak bridge, Whiteacre Street, Deighton, Huddersfield
This is over the main Manchester to Leeds railway. One-way traffic reduces the load on the bridge structure. The bridge in the foreground is over the disused Kirkburton branch.

Deighton railway station, Yorkshire
Opened in 1982 by British Rail on the line from Leeds to Huddersfield. View north east towards Bradley and Leeds. Previously this was the site of the junction for the Kirkburton branch which went off behind the current right-hand platform and to the right of the overbridge. Between 1871 and 1930, the original Deighton station was situated on the branch on the other side of the bridge.

Deighton Mill and Leeds Road bridge
This was a corn, rather than textile mill, and the widening of the canal suggests that goods were received and/or dispatched by boat. See Image for a different angle. The mill is not listed, but the road bridge over the Huddersfield Broad Canal is (grade II, entry 1221204). At first glance it looks modern but that is because the original stone arch has been widened on both sides by unsympathetic concrete extensions.

The railway, Whiteacre Street, Deighton, Huddersfield
This is looking towards Leeds. Evidently a favourite site for graffiti artists.
