Partial closure of Northgate Street
The railway between Leeds and Huddersfield is seeing significant works taking place as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) with work taking place to enable installation of two additional lines to make the route four-track between Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Northgate Street has one lane closed for work on the viaduct.

Huddersfield railway viaduct
Three arches of this viaduct were used to accommodate the inner ring road. It was built in 1845-47 but still carries the main Leeds to Manchester line, and is now grade II listed (list entry 1223531).
