The western end of the Fartown cycleway, Fartown, Huddersfield
Here the path zigzags down the slope that has replaced a bridge abutment like the one opposite. The route continues along a trading estate road towards the town centre.

Entrance to Fartown cycleway from Willow Lane, Huddersfield
At first there was a fence across the gap to deter motorcyclists, but it made it difficult for cyclists, who would ride around at the side. The path zigzags up the slope to the level of the former railway.

Clough House Mill Beck, Fartown / Huddersfield
Here this watercourse makes a rare appearance, being culverted for much of its length. It was the boundary between the Fartown and Huddersfield divisions of the township of Huddersfield.

The cuttings have generally been filled in, so that there is a descent to each bridge. There is adequate headroom, although it doesn't appear so on the approach!
