Former Lockwood Methodist Church
Dated 1864; listed Grade II. Now an Islamic centre, and captioned 'mosque' on the large-scale map, but still marked with a cross on smaller scale maps. However, if a new 'crescent moon' symbol were introduced there would be problems with synagogues, Sikh and Hindu and Buddhist temples, etc!

Detail of the former Methodist Sunday School, Haigh Street
This was taken for the ornamental ventilating blocks. There are also similar iron plates lower down the wall. Presumably the ventilation is into a cavity wall and not through into the interior of the building, as sparrows were flying in and out. It was quite amazing that they were able to get through such small apertures.
