Old house, Wakefield Road, Moldgreen, Dalton (Huddersfield)
Here an old house, shown on the 1850 map, has become sandwiched between two terraces of different type. These terraces have been built a little further back from the kerb, perhaps due to byelaws made in the later 19C. The houses are being progressively closed and boarded up.

Gateway from the old market Hall, Moldgreen, Dalton (Huddersfield)
Having passed by many times without noticing it, seeing this was a surprise. It was the coloured coat of arms that caught the eye. The stone on the left records that these were the Victoria Lane gates from the old Market Hall, which was built in 1878 and demolished in 1970. The gates were erected here in 1971, probably because they were 'rescued' by the owners of Shaw's Pickles.
