183 Bus on Pinner Road
VLP16 pulls up at the stop for Pinner Cemetery, which is located behind Capel Gardens. The bus is on route from Pinner to Golders Green Station, a lengthy and slow journey with heavy traffic almost always present in Kenton. The vehicle looks like it is due for an overhaul soon.

Capel Gardens
Located beside Pinner Road, these are sister apartment blocks to Pinner Court (See Image by Nigel Cox). The trees and pantiled roofs contrast strongly with the 132kV pylon looming behind.

The Metropolitan Line
Looking from Marsh Road towards North Harrow station, visible on the curve in the distance. The tracks on the left are for stopping services whilst those on the right are used by fast trains. On the horizon the spire of St. Mary's in Harrow-on-the-Hill can be seen.

Pinner: Pinner Court, Pinner Road
Pinner Court and its sister block, Capel Gardens, were built in 1935 and 1936 as colonial-style luxury flats, for the Courtenay Property Company Limited, to the design of H J Mark. The distinctive green tile roofed white walled buildings have three stories and are arranged in three groupings set back about 60 metres from Pinner Road. The dark block on the right is a fountain.

The chapel would presumably have been built around the time the cemetery was opened in 1933.

Betjeman Close, Pinner Road
Betjeman Close, a fitting name given that this is Metroland, is a small housing estate built around a cul-de-sac off the Pinner Road. These houses are along the Pinner Road itself.
