Northolt Road, Roxeth
The map says this is the centre of Roxeth, which is actually the name of the general area but since the station was called South Harrow that name has taken over.

South Harrow Telephone Exchange (2)
This photo shows the extension to this TE although one could be forgiven for thinking that it looked like a hospital instead. It used to have BYRon and CONcord numbers until the late 1960s, BYRon being named possibly after Byron Hill Road in Harrow-on-the-Hill or the poet Lord Byron who was educated at Harrow School, which is in the South Harrow TE area. It now has 0208-422, 423, 864 and 869 xxxx numbers, plus some Outer London numbers.

South Harrow Telephone Exchange (3)
This photo taken from Osmond Close HA2 0BE, shows the BT Openreach vans parked in front of the TE. It is perhaps unfortunate that it doesn't look all that prepossessing compared with some other TEs in Greater London. Mobile phone aerials can be seen on the roof of this building.
