The Orangery, Highnam Court
The construction of an orangery, an addition at the west side of the house, was finished in 2001. The statue is Mercury. Highnam Court was built in 1658 after the original house was damaged in the Civil War. It is one of the few houses built during the Commonwealth period. The gardens were neglected since the turn of the last century and were totally overgrown when restoration began in 1994. Whilst the house remains private, the gardens are open regularly on Sundays. Highnam Court , Gloucestershire
Dating from the Commonwealth period (b. 1658) Highnam Court has extensive grounds. Here a pair of Bugattis, on the occasion of the 2010 Gloucestershire Motor Show, appear on the main lawn in front of the main house with a beer tent adjoining the front of the building. The event was held in support of the Pied Piper Appeal.

Classic cars at Highnam Court, Gloucestershire
Highnam Court built in 1658 is one of the few stately homes to survive from the Commonwealth period. It was the home of Hubert Parry (he of 'Jerusalem' fame) but more recently the current owner has undertaken very major restoration work of both house and gardens to very fine effect. The occasion is the 2010 Gloucestershire Motor Show held in the grounds in support of the Pied Piper Appeal.Apart from the classic cars in the foreground a beer tent adjoins the main house! I am sure Hubert Parry would approve.
