This intricate knot pattern garden by the Orangery was finished in December 2004. The statue is Mercury. Highnam Court was built in 1658 after the original house was damaged in the Civil War. It is one of the few houses built during the Commonwealth period. The gardens were neglected since the turn of the last century and were totally overgrown when restoration began in 1994. Whilst the house remains private, the gardens are open regularly on Sundays. For opening times visit http://www.highnamcourt.co.uk/events.html
