Highnam Court built in 1658 is one of the few stately homes to survive from the Commonwealth period. It was the home of Hubert Parry (he of 'Jerusalem' fame) but more recently the current owner has undertaken very major restoration work of both house and gardens to very fine effect. The occasion is the 2010 Gloucestershire Motor Show held in the grounds in support of the Pied Piper Appeal.Apart from the classic cars in the foreground a beer tent adjoins the main house! I am sure Hubert Parry would approve.
