The back of Charing Cross Mansions
This was the goods entrance to the Woolworth's store which occupied 22-26 St Georges Road. It opened in 1922 and closed in the early 1970s, long before the final demise of the Woolworth chain. A fine survivor! Included in the Listing of Charing Cross Mansions (Listed Category A http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33127 ) this was originally intended to be a full height section but was never completed as such.

F.W.Woolworth lingers on
Two layers of paint, the older one not in quite the same place, but not wholly erased either, record the former F.W.Woolworth & Co. Ltd. business in these premises. The shot was taken from the east end of the footbridge at the end of Renfrew Street, which carries pedestrians over the M8 motorway and feeder roads towards Kelvingrove.

Bust of Beethoven
The front of the Ewing Galleries is in Sauchiehall Street, and is decorated with several allegorical figures.
The building, which was originally a piano and organ warehouse, has a back entrance at 341 Renfrew Street; in this less prominent and rather shaded location, a large bust of Beethoven is set on the pediment [for more information, see, for example, "Sculpture in Glasgow – an illustrated handbook" by Ray McKenzie].
In recent times, the building has been put to other uses, and it has gone through many changes of name: The Velvet Rooms, Blanket, Guru, and others. It had earlier housed a cinema. See http://portal.historic-scotland.gov.uk/designation/LB49921 (at Historic Environment Scotland) for a detailed history of the building.
From this angle, the bust reminds me of comedian Stewart Lee; "Beethoven has really let himself go".

A large building, despite the small frontage, extending to Sauchiehall Street. This is the rear of the building, complete with a large bust of Beethoven.
The building was also used as a cinema for a period (first the Vitagraph Cinema, later The King's Cinema). A Category B Listed building http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2200:15:0::::BUILDING:49921 .
