This was the goods entrance to the Woolworth's store which occupied 22-26 St Georges Road. It opened in 1922 and closed in the early 1970s, long before the final demise of the Woolworth chain. A fine survivor! Included in the Listing of Charing Cross Mansions (Listed Category A http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33127 ) this was originally intended to be a full height section but was never completed as such.
