Seen from Sauchiehall Street. The tenement block on the left and extending along Sauchiehall Street dates from 1845 and is Category B listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33176. The next block is also early Victorian and it too is Category B listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB32968. Beyond these is the Adelaide Place Baptist Church, dating from 1877 and also Category B listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB33097.

Glasgow School of Art - after the fire
At this stage the iconic building was still being assessed. From this image, it doesn't look all that badly damaged, but a large part of the interior of the building, including Mackintosh's famous library was completely gutted. This photograph was taken on the evening of the final year students' End of Year Show, which was held in the new Reid Building directly across from the Mackintosh Building, three weeks after the devastating fire. Sadly several of the students had lost much of their art work in the fire.
