University buildings
The BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre is on the left. It was named after the British Heart Foundation, who contributed to the cost. On the right is the (Glasgow) Biomedical Research Centre (Sir Graeme Davies Building), named for Sir Graeme John Davies (b.1937), Principal of the University from 1995 to 2003. Both buildings opened in 2003.

University Avenue (realigned)
The view from University Avenue to its junction with Byres Road (left to right) and Highburgh Road (straight ahead). Tennent's Bar is on the corner of Byres Road and Highburgh Road.
This stretch of road was built in the nineteen sixties or seventies and was originally named as University Avenue Realigned. However the original section of University Avenue has now been renamed University Place and there is no reference in any sign to this being a realignment of the road.
