Stile at Woodcote
The footpath passes close to a private house, and it looks like the house owners make it their job to keep the path neatly mown. Behind the photographer, the footpath crosses a large field. The path is part of the Monarch's Way Long Distance Footpath.

Crossroads at Wootton Cross
The hedge on the left has been trimmed away from the road to give clear view for traffic at the crossroads. It screens a large solar farm from the road. The OS map calls it Wootton Cross but the signpost erected by Devon CC calls it Portobello Cross Image This latter name appears on the 1905 1:2500 OS map
