Former Whisky Distillery Stillhouse on Pikes Pool Drive
Not a house for an introvert. This was once part of a whisky distillery, and being a listed building, is the only substantial structure still standing from the old site.
The distillery was founded in 1795. The date of the stillhouse is unknown but it must have gone up after 1830, as according to various online sources it is a rare surviving example of a stillhouse designed to accommodate the Coffey Still, a groundbreaking design of 1830, on which modern stills are still based. Invented by an Irishman, it was quickly adopted everywhere except Ireland, which in the 19th Century was the world's biggest producer of whisky (or whiskey - Irish spelling!)
A new residential street, part of the same development, running behind the houses to the left of the picture, is called Stillhouse Loan.

Bench overlooking River Almond, Kirkliston
The picture looks very rural, which it is, but a busy road, forever clogged up with traffic, runs parallel to the path which the bench is on. The view isn't quite as good sitting down on the bench, but it's still a good spot. As with almost all benches these days it comes with a commemorative plaque, in this case from a former head of the local council to his late wife. I would be interested to know if the trees which block the view of the river from elsewhere on this short path were removed before or after the bench idea. I have no objections if they were removed as a consequence of the bench, I'm just nosey about stuff!
